AFFECTIVITY
***
It is nowadays admitted by all that affectivity is at the center of somatization processes and of certain pathological psychological states ( post-traumatic syndromes, anxious states...).
A first text presented ("Emotions and emotional regulation: a developmental perspective" P. Brun ) explores the data of the cognitive neuropsychology approach of affectivity considered as part of the mental processes of cognition.
In conclusion of this text the emotional state is presented as a " complex mental phenomenon, observable interface between the intimate and the social; observable interface between the integration of signals (I would add states) body and elaboration of mental states. But also a dynamic phenomenon of adaptation (I would add through its informative intra and intersubjective valence) of the behaviors facing the solicitations of the environment (I would add those of the internal mental world) ".
It seems relevant to us to start from this conceptual base to develop the approach of affectivity in Integrative Psychosomatics, which is based on certain concepts of Psychoanalysis.
Psychosomatics, in fact, does not deny the existence of a psychic system precisely defined as a mental system of elaboration of links between thoughts and representations, affects and behaviors.
As such, the functioning of the psychic apparatus finds its essential position in the defensive activity of the individual in front of the affective incidence of his disturbing or even stressful life events.
Two other major texts will feed our exchanges: Professor Stora's course on affects and the document he sent us during one of his seminars on the shared affect of C. Parat.
