For many years now, we've been reading articles and comments about the decline of psychoanalysis, and probably its eventual disappearance. I think all these authors are wrong, because they haven't yet understood that a scientific model such as that created by the genius Sigmund Freud cannot disappear. We need to think about its application and the sociological evolution of our societies. 24 centuries after Anaxagoras divided mind and body, a brilliant scientist at the end of the 19th century proposed a model of how the mind works. He proposed this model in 19th-century Vienna, which was highly puritanical and repressive of sexuality. What Sigmund Freud failed to foresee was the evolution of our societies, with the emergence of revolutionary feminist movements that have profoundly altered the psychic functioning of women and men.
